Lead Quality and Sales Handoff Audit

Role play Has example

Check alignment between marketing and sales.

The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.

Play two roles in a mediated conversation so I can see where marketing and sales disagree. You are (A) the head of marketing and (B) the head of sales at my company. I am the neutral facilitator. Facts: how leads are defined today [LEAD_DEFINITION]; lead volume and conversion by source [LEAD_DATA]; response time practice [RESPONSE_PRACTICE]; complaints each side makes about the other [COMPLAINTS].

Run the debate in 8 exchanges. Each role speaks in 2 to 4 sentences and must cite the data I provided (or say it does not have data). A argues leads are good and sales follow-up is slow; B argues leads are poor and marketing counts the wrong things. After each exchange, I may type a question or "next".

After exchange 8, drop the roles and give me a facilitator's summary: where each side is right, the data that would settle each disagreement, a proposed shared definition of a qualified lead with scoring criteria, a handoff service-level agreement (response time, follow-up attempts, feedback loop), and a weekly 20-minute review agenda. Finish with the three metrics both teams should own together.

See an example result (fictional data)
Marketing (A): "We delivered 600 leads last quarter, 20% above target."
Sales (B): "Only 90 were worth calling. Half had no phone number, and 120 were students."
Facilitator summary: both are right. Marketing is measured on volume, sales on revenue.
Data that would settle it: conversion by source; response time (median 26 hours).
Proposed qualified lead definition: company size 10+, job title in target list, budget range stated or timeline under 6 months; score 1 point per criterion, qualify at 3.
Handoff SLA: sales contacts within 4 hours, at least 3 attempts over 7 days, feedback tag in the CRM.
Weekly 20-minute review: top sources, rejected leads and reasons.
Shared metrics: pipeline created and cost per qualified lead.

Illustrative only, made-up data. Your results will differ and must be reviewed.
