Looker Studio Metric Definition and Consistency Audit
Check that the same metric means the same thing everywhere.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
Audit metric definitions across Looker Studio reports. For each metric name used: report, formula or source field, filters, date field and owner: [METRIC_LIST]. Find metrics with the same name but different formulas, different names for the same thing, differing date fields, and undefined metrics. Count them and show the share. Present conflicts as a table: metric name, report A definition, report B definition, difference, and example numbers if I give them. Do not choose a definition; list questions for owners. For the five most important metrics write a dictionary entry in full: plain-language definition, formula, source, date field, owner and caveat. Resolve conflicts in order: finance metrics first, then growth, then operational. Add a process for changes: any change to a definition is announced with the date and the effect on past numbers. Keep the dictionary entries short enough to publish on a single page. Ask me for the missing formulas, rather than guessing them, for any metric whose definition I did not supply.
