Looker Studio Report Performance and Load Time Audit
Find why a report loads slowly.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
[VERIFY] is an editorial flag, not a blank to fill. Wherever the prompt shows [VERIFY], check that item against a reliable source before you use it.
Audit report speed. Load time and number of charts per page: [LOAD_AND_CHARTS]. Data sources and sizes: [SOURCES]. Blends and calculated fields: [BLENDS_AND_FIELDS]. Date range defaults: [DEFAULT_RANGES]. Check for too many charts, wide date ranges by default, blends of large sources, complex calculated fields at chart level, many filters, and unneeded fields. Test protocol: load the report three times with a cleared cache and a fixed date range and record the times (14, 12 and 13 seconds average 13), then remove one element at a time and record again; change one thing at a time. Rank causes by evidence and by how simple the fix is, and give fixes in order of effect: reduce charts, default to a shorter range such as 28 days, pre-aggregate in the source, extract data [VERIFY]. Data source speed sometimes matters more than the report. Return a table with Cause, Evidence, Fix and Effort, and a design rule for chart counts per page.
