LinkedIn Connection Note Examples
Write short notes people actually accept.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
Write LinkedIn connection requests. My role and goals: [MY_ROLE_AND_GOALS]. The recipient (role, company, what I know from their public profile): [RECIPIENT_DETAILS]. Reason for connecting (shared interest, event, mutual contact, topic): [REASON]. Character limit (check the current limit): [CHARACTER_LIMIT]. Study these examples. Weak: "I'd like to add you to my professional network." Better: "Hi Dan, your comments on warehouse automation at the Leeds event were useful. I work on similar problems at Northway. Would be glad to connect." Better (mutual contact): "Hi Priya, Sam Okafor suggested I reach out; we're both interested in supply chain analytics. I'd love to follow your work." Return 10 notes in different situations: after an event, after reading their article, shared alumni, mutual contact, same industry group, a recruiter, a potential customer (no pitch in the first note), a potential mentor, an expert I want to learn from, and a past colleague. Each under 250 characters, with a one-line reason it works and a note on what to avoid. Add rules: do not pitch in the invitation, be truthful about the connection, and keep the profile consistent with the note. Add a polite follow-up after acceptance (not a sales pitch), and a policy for declined or ignored requests. Don't invent shared events or contacts.
