Project Assessment Rubric Builder
Create a clear four-level rubric students can understand.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
Create a rubric for [PROJECT_DESCRIPTION] for students in [GRADE_OR_LEVEL]. Learning goals the project must show: [LEARNING_GOALS]. Total points: [TOTAL_POINTS]. Build the rubric as a table. Rows are criteria (choose 4 to 6 that match the goals, plus one for process or collaboration if it is a group project). Columns are four levels: Exceeds, Meets, Approaching, Not yet. In every cell describe observable evidence in plain language, with no vague words like "good" or "adequate". Each level must differ from its neighbor in a way a student could see in the work. Then: - Assign points per criterion and show how they add up to the total. - Write a student-friendly version of the rubric as a checklist of "I can" statements. - Provide three sample comments a teacher could paste for common situations (strong work, incomplete evidence, off-topic). - Flag any criterion that is hard to grade consistently and suggest how to fix it. Keep descriptors under 25 words each.
