Confluence How-To Article From Expert Notes
Write a step-by-step help article that a new colleague can follow.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
[VERIFY] is an editorial flag, not a blank to fill. Wherever the prompt shows [VERIFY], check that item against a reliable source before you use it.
Write a Confluence how-to article from these expert notes: [EXPERT_NOTES]. Task being explained: [TASK_NAME]. Reader and their experience level: [READER]. Tools or access the reader needs: [PREREQUISITES]. Known pitfalls: [PITFALLS]. Use this structure: a title in the form 'How to [verb] [thing]', purpose in one sentence, who it is for, prerequisites as a checklist, numbered steps with one action each and the expected result after each, troubleshooting as a table of symptom and fix, when not to use this procedure and what to do instead, related pages (placeholders, no invented links), and an owner and last-reviewed line. Write steps in the imperative, put warnings before the step they apply to, and check the order for dependencies such as a setting that must change first. Name buttons and menus exactly as in my notes; where the notes do not say, write [VERIFY]. If the notes skip a step a newcomer would need, insert a marked gap such as [MISSING STEP] instead of guessing. Limit the article to what the notes support and keep it readable in under five minutes. Suggest where a screenshot would help without describing screenshots as if they exist. End with a three-question self-check, and propose a test: someone who has not done the task follows the article with a timer while you note each hesitation and question, since each is a gap. Offer a short chat-message version that links to the full page.
