Google Docs Lesson Plan Template and Filled Example
Plan a lesson with objectives, activities and assessment.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
[VERIFY] is an editorial flag, not a blank to fill. Wherever the prompt shows [VERIFY], check that item against a reliable source before you use it.
Write a lesson plan. Subject and level: [SUBJECT_AND_LEVEL]. Learning objective: [OBJECTIVE]. Length of lesson: [MINUTES]. Resources: [RESOURCES]. Class needs: [CLASS_NEEDS]. Layout: the objective in measurable form, prior knowledge, materials, a timeline table whose minutes add up (show the totals, and allow two minutes for each transition, which usually takes longer than planned), teaching steps, questions to check understanding, likely misconceptions in my topic with the question that would reveal each, differentiation for those who need support and those who need challenge (adapting the plan for mixed ability without a separate lesson), assessment, and homework if used. Add exit questions that check the objective and say what to do with the answers. Provide a filled example using my topic and a blank template version, and a note on adjusting the plan if the lesson is shortened by ten minutes. Do not claim curriculum alignment; mark [VERIFY]. Keep the filled example to one page. If my objective is too large for the time, say what to cut. Use plain language a supply teacher could follow without a briefing.
