Analysis Prompt That Requires Evidence
Ask for reasoning tied to the data you provide.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
Write an analysis prompt that forces evidence. The question I need answered: [QUESTION]. The data or documents I will provide: [MATERIAL]. The decision it supports: [DECISION].
Write the prompt with these requirements: state the question; instruct the assistant to use only the provided material; for each claim, cite the supporting quote, row, or figure; separate observations (what the data shows), inferences (what it may mean), and recommendations; list alternative explanations; give a confidence level (high, medium, low) with the reason; list what additional data would change the conclusion; and avoid statements that the data cannot support.
Then show: a weak version ("Analyze this data and tell me what's going on") and a strong version for my case; a template table for the answer (Finding | Evidence | Interpretation | Confidence | Next check); a verification routine (recalculate two numbers by hand, check two quotes against the source); and a list of risks (confusing correlation with cause, overgeneralizing from small samples, ignoring missing data). Add a version for situations where the assistant cannot see the data directly and I paste summaries instead. Say clearly that the output is a first pass to be verified.

Optional: type your details and the prompt above updates. Nothing is saved or sent.
Replace each bracketed placeholder with your own details, then paste into Any AI or another assistant.

Finding | Evidence | Interpretation | Confidence | Next check Sign-ups fell in week 3 | Row 14: 212 vs 301 in week 2 | Likely tied to the pricing change on the 15th | Medium | Compare with traffic in the same weeks Churn flat | Rows 20-24: 3.1 to 3.2 percent | No change | High | - Alternative explanations: seasonality, tracking change. What would change the conclusion: traffic data. First pass only; verify two numbers by hand.
