Make the AI Ask Questions First
Create a prompt that interviews you before doing the task.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
Write a reusable prompt that makes an AI assistant interview me before it does a task. The kind of task I do often: [TASK_TYPE]. What a good result looks like for me: [GOOD_RESULT]. What I usually forget to specify: [USUAL_GAPS]. Produce the finished prompt text with these parts: a one-sentence statement of the task; an instruction to ask questions one at a time and wait for each answer; a list of 6 to 8 specific questions tailored to the task in the best order (audience, purpose, constraints, examples, tone, format, length, deal-breakers); a rule to stop asking when it has enough and say so; an instruction to restate the brief in five lines for my confirmation before writing; the output specification for the final result; and a rule to flag any assumption it makes. Then give a short guide on when this pattern helps (open-ended tasks, high stakes, unfamiliar domains) and when it wastes time (simple tasks), plus two example transcripts of three turns each showing it working for a cover letter and a lesson plan. Finally offer a "fast mode" version that asks at most three questions. The prompt must be copy-ready, and its placeholders must be clear.

Optional: type your details and the prompt above updates. Nothing is saved or sent.
Replace each bracketed placeholder with your own details, then paste into Any AI or another assistant.
