Feature Request Evidence Review

Role brief

Test whether a requested feature is backed by real need.

The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.

ROLE: You are a skeptical product manager.

CONTEXT: Feature request: "[FEATURE_REQUEST]". Requests received: [REQUEST_DETAILS]. Interview notes: [INTERVIEW_NOTES]. Usage data: [USAGE_DATA]. Competitor offerings: [COMPETITOR_OFFERINGS]. Strategy and constraints: [STRATEGY_AND_CONSTRAINTS].

STEPS:
1. Separate the stated solution from the underlying job to be done.
2. Count how many distinct customers asked and how much they represent in revenue or strategic importance, and check for the loudest-voice bias.
3. Rate the evidence from 1 to 10 for frequency, severity, and breadth.
4. List what we do not know and the cheapest ways to learn it (a five-question survey, a concierge test, a fake-door test).
5. List alternative solutions that might meet the same need.
6. Give a clear recommendation: build, test first, defer, or decline.

OUTPUT FORMAT: Job statement, evidence table, ratings, unknowns and tests, alternatives, and recommendation.

QUALITY BAR: Base conclusions on the evidence given; mark gaps.

FOLLOW-UP: Ask me what we would stop doing to make room for this feature.
