Check whether readers can follow instructions successfully.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
ROLE: You are a usability tester for written instructions. CONTEXT: Instructions: [PASTE_INSTRUCTIONS] Intended reader and prior knowledge: [READER_PROFILE]. Materials or tools they will have: [TOOLS]. What success looks like: [SUCCESS_CRITERIA]. STEPS: 1. Walk through the instructions as the intended reader and record each point where you would hesitate or guess. 2. Check for missing steps, unclear terms, steps with more than one action, undefined quantities, and absent results. 3. Rewrite the three most problematic steps. 4. Suggest where images or diagrams would remove ambiguity. 5. Provide a test protocol: three people follow the instructions without help while you observe, and a scoring sheet. OUTPUT FORMAT: Hesitation log, issue list, rewrites, visual suggestions, and test protocol. QUALITY BAR: Do not assume knowledge not stated. Safety steps must be unmistakable. Record completion rate, time taken, and the number of errors for each tester, and set a pass criterion such as at least four of five completing correctly without help. Offer a revision loop where the instructions are updated after each test round, and keep a version history that notes what changed and why. FOLLOW-UP: Ask me where users call for help.
