Accessibility Roadmap and Prioritisation
Choose what to fix first.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
[VERIFY] is an editorial flag, not a blank to fill. Wherever the prompt shows [VERIFY], check that item against a reliable source before you use it.
Prioritise fixes. List of known issues with page or feature, affected users and effort: [ISSUE_LIST]. Score each on impact on core tasks, number of users, severity of barrier, legal or contractual exposure [VERIFY], and effort. Rank with a weighted score and show arithmetic. Return a table and a three-phase roadmap with review dates. Add a worked scoring example with invented issues. Issue A, checkout form errors not announced: impact on core task 5, users affected 4, severity 5, legal exposure 3, effort 2; weights impact 3, users 2, severity 3, exposure 1, effort minus 1. Score = 5x3 + 4x2 + 5x3 + 3x1 - 2x1 = 15 + 8 + 15 + 3 - 2 = 39. Issue B, missing alt text on blog images: impact 2, users 3, severity 2, exposure 2, effort 3. Score = 6 + 6 + 6 + 2 - 3 = 17. Issue C, keyboard trap in the date picker: impact 5, users 3, severity 5, exposure 3, effort 3, score = 15 + 6 + 15 + 3 - 3 = 36. Ranking: A, C, B. Replace weights and values with mine and explain the weights. Phase one, the next six weeks: fix blockers in core flows. Phase two, three months: templates, component fixes and training. Phase three, the year: governance, regular audits, user testing, and procurement requirements. For each phase give owners, measures such as the number of open blockers and the share of pages passing automated checks plus manual spot checks, and review dates. Add a risk list: dependence on a few people, vendor components that cannot be fixed, and competing priorities. Add a communication plan: a monthly update to leadership showing progress with the open issue count trend. Remind me that scores are judgement and legal exposure must be checked with an adviser [VERIFY].
