Write a fare dispute to a ride-share company for a ride that cost much more than the quote or took a different route. Inputs I will provide: company [RIDE_COMPANY], date and time [RIDE_TIME], pickup and drop-off [ROUTE], quoted price [QUOTED_PRICE], charged price [CHARGED_PRICE], what I think went wrong (route, wait, surge, fee) [LIKELY_CAUSE].

The draft must show the quote, the final charge and the difference, mention any route or wait-time facts, and ask for a corrected fare with a breakdown.

Gather before drafting: In-app receipt, a screenshot of the quote, a map of the route, and the time stamps for pickup and drop-off. Reasonable asks: Fare adjustment, a breakdown of fees, and a credit for the extra amount. They will often answer: Companies often say price changes follow route changes or demand; reply by asking for the route data and for the reason the final price exceeded the quoted one by more than the app said it could.

Begin with an exhibit table for the ride-share overcharge or wrong fare dispute letter (number, item, date, purpose), mark the missing ones, and then draft the letter citing exhibits by number. Give me the letter itself with a short cover note, around 50 words, followed by an if-ignored ladder (use the in-app support, then the company's escalation email, then the card issuer), then an evidence checklist (receipt, quote screenshot, route map, timestamps). Submit it through the official portal or form if one exists, and save the confirmation number and a dated screenshot and keep the confirmation email in the case folder.

Invent no statute or deadline; stay within [JURISDICTION] and [RELEVANT_LAW_OR_POLICY_IF_KNOWN] and nothing else, and remind me to check the law with a qualified adviser. Draft it as myself, not on anyone's behalf, claiming no legal credentials. Write it direct, fair and respectful, threatening nothing beyond lawful steps, set no cut-off other than [DEADLINE], and say where an outcome is uncertain. This is drafting help, not legal advice.

Hello,
On 2 February at 18:05 I booked a ride from Oak Street to the airport. The app quoted 24.00 and the receipt shows 41.60. The map on my receipt shows the driver took a route about 4 kilometres longer than the usual one and there was a 9-minute wait charge although I was at the kerb.
Please send a breakdown of the fare (distance, time, wait, fees) and correct it to the quoted price unless you can show the extra was caused by a change I requested. I have attached the receipt and quote screenshot.
