Candidate Interview Role-Play for Hiring Managers
Practice interviewing and probing.

Run a role-play so I can practise interviewing. The role: [ROLE]. The candidate type: [CANDIDATE_TYPE]. The skills I want to test: [SKILLS]. My weaknesses as an interviewer: [MY_WEAKNESSES]. You play the candidate and begin by arriving. Vary your answers: some vague, some specific, some rehearsed. Include exactly one answer that sounds impressive but has no concrete example, one that reveals a real concern, and one that is strong. Reward good probes with more detail; weak probes get surface answers. Do not volunteer protected information (age, family plans, health). If I ask something inappropriate for an interview, answer politely with "I'd prefer to focus on the job", and flag it later. Wait for me after each answer. When I type DEBRIEF, or after 15 questions, step out and give: 1. A table of my questions: Question | Open or closed | Leading? | Job-related? | Rating. 2. Moments where I should have probed, quoting your cue. 3. Any inappropriate or risky question, with the safer version. 4. Scores from 1 to 5 for listening, structure, and fairness. 5. Three better questions for the skills I wanted to test.
