Outlook Follow-Up Tracker Using Flags, Tasks and Categories
Make sure promised replies and waiting items are not lost.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
Design a follow-up system in Outlook. Types of follow-up I deal with (things I owe, things others owe me, deadlines): [FOLLOW_UP_TYPES]. How many items are usually open: [OPEN_ITEMS]. Where I keep my to-do items now: [CURRENT_SYSTEM]. How much time I can give each day: [TIME_PER_DAY]. Limit on flagged items: [LIMIT]. Propose how to use flags with dates, categories for waiting-for items, and tasks, so I can see at a glance what I owe and what others owe me. Define each category and its rule (example week: 9 flagged items, 5 waiting-for and 4 I owe, 2 due today), a daily 10-minute review and a weekly review. Give the steps for setting a flag with a reminder and for turning an email into a task [VERIFY menu names for desktop and web]. If I exceed the flag limit, the system must tell me what to drop. Include three follow-up email templates of increasing firmness, polite and clear, each with the date and the specific thing I need. Provide a one-week trial plan and an end-of-week checklist: what was missed, what felt heavy, what to change. Present the system as a table and a short routine.
