Analogy Generator With Honest Limits

Table output

Get several analogies and know where each one breaks.

The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.

Give me analogies for [CONCEPT] that I can use to explain it to [AUDIENCE]. For each analogy, be explicit about where it fails.

Produce four analogies drawn from different areas of life (for example cooking, sports, traffic, money). Present them in a table with columns: Analogy, How it maps (list the matching parts, one per line), What it explains well, Where it breaks down or could mislead, and Best used when.

Rules: no analogy may rely on another concept as difficult as the one being explained; do not use clichés such as "the cell is a factory" unless you fix their known weaknesses; mark which analogy you think is best for a first explanation and which is best for a second explanation after the first has sunk in.

Then write a 100-word script using the best analogy that says out loud, "this comparison only goes so far," and adds the correction. Finish by asking me what the audience already knows so you can pick better comparisons.
