Plan scheduled API checks with Postman. Critical endpoints and what must be true: [CRITICAL_ENDPOINTS]. Acceptable response times: [THRESHOLDS]. Who is alerted and how: [ALERTING]. Environments to check: [ENVIRONMENTS]. List at most six smoke tests in a table with endpoint, request, assertions, frequency and owner. Use dedicated test accounts, never real credentials in shared documents, and avoid checks that change real data, create costs, or run against production with real customer accounts. Alert rules require two consecutive failures to avoid false alarms from one-off network errors; with checks every 15 minutes that means up to 30 minutes before an alert. Uptime arithmetic: 3 failed checks in 2,880 checks (every 15 minutes for 30 days) is 99.9 percent success. Mention regions or locations if relevant [VERIFY]. Runbook as numbered steps with a decision at each: confirm, check the status of dependencies, escalate, communicate. Monthly review of alerts, test accounts kept separate from real users, and a note on what checks cannot detect, such as slow degradation or data errors.
