I pasted a long text into Word and it needs cleaning. Problems with examples: [PROBLEM_EXAMPLES]. Sample of the text (about 300 words): [TEXT_SAMPLE].

List the cleaning passes in an order where no later pass undoes an earlier one, and explain the order. For each pass give what it fixes, the Find what and Replace with entries (special characters such as ^p for paragraph marks and ^t for tabs, wildcards only where truly needed), whether to tick Use wildcards or Match case, and a before and after example from my sample. Cover double spaces, extra paragraph marks, manual line breaks, straight and curly quotes, spaces before punctuation, hyphen and dash use, and inconsistent number formats. Explain each pattern in plain words so I learn it, and give a table of patterns I can keep.

Mark every pattern you have not tested [VERIFY], because wildcard syntax in Word has particular rules. Work on a copy, replace one pass at a time using Find Next first, and keep Track Changes on. Final check: search for double spaces, double paragraph marks and stray symbols. Do not automate quotations and legal wording.
