Gmail Newsletter Subscription Audit
Review subscriptions for value and risk.

Audit my newsletter subscriptions. List with sender, frequency and whether I read it: [SUBSCRIPTIONS]. Time I spend on them each week: [TIME]. Calculate emails per week, the share I open, and the time spent. Classify each as keep (I act on it at least monthly), pause (I read it only from habit) or unsubscribe (not opened in three months), with a reason, and count how many fall in each group with percentages. Flag any that look suspicious. Warn me about unsubscribing from unknown senders, since that can confirm my address; report and delete those instead [VERIFY]. Return a table with Sender, Value, Action and Note, the time saved with arithmetic, a single weekly reading time for those I keep with how long it will take, and a rule for new sign-ups. Keep the table short enough to act on in one sitting. Say what to do with newsletters I am unsure about: pause for a month, then decide by whether I missed them.

Invented list: 24 newsletters, 3 emails a week each on average = 72 emails. I open 9 of the 24 (37.5 percent). Unsubscribe from 10, pause 5. Remaining 9 at 3 emails = 27 emails a week. Time saved: 45 emails at 20 seconds = 15 minutes a week. Decisions: keep 9 (the ones I act on), pause 5 for a month and see if I miss them, unsubscribe from 10. Check for suspicious ones: two newsletters sent from addresses that do not match the sender name were reported and deleted, not unsubscribed. Reading time: the 9 I keep take about 20 minutes on Saturday morning.
