Community Guidelines Audit: Clarity, Fairness and Enforcement
Check that rules are understandable and applied consistently.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
[VERIFY] is an editorial flag, not a blank to fill. Wherever the prompt shows [VERIFY], check that item against a reliable source before you use it.
Audit our community guidelines. The text of the guidelines: [GUIDELINES_TEXT]. A sample of moderation actions with the post, rule applied, and outcome: [MODERATION_SAMPLE]. Member complaints: [MEMBER_COMPLAINTS].
Check clarity (average sentence length, plain language), coverage (harassment, spam, self-promotion, privacy, off-topic, misinformation), examples, consequences, how to appeal, and who decides. Compare the sample actions with the rules and find inconsistencies. Make a table with Rule, Clarity, Examples present, Enforcement consistency, and Fix. Count actions where the rule cited does not match the content and give the percentage with the arithmetic. Rewrite two rules and propose an appeal process with a response time.
Protect member privacy. Mark legal duties on content and safety [VERIFY].
Add a worked consistency check on 12 moderation actions: 9 matched the rule cited (75 percent), 2 cited a rule that does not exist in the guidelines, 1 was an inconsistent outcome for a similar post; rewrite one vague rule ('be respectful') into a specific one with an example of what is and is not allowed, and a three-step appeal process with response times.
