Write replies that decline a request. The request I received: [PASTE_REQUEST]. Who sent it and our relationship: [SENDER_AND_RELATIONSHIP]. Why I am saying no, as much as I want to share: [MY_REASON]. What I can offer instead, if anything: [ALTERNATIVE]. Tone: [TONE].

Study these examples.
Declining a meeting: "Thanks for thinking of me. I can't take on new meetings this quarter, so I'd rather say no now than do it badly. If a short written question would help, I'm glad to answer by email."
Declining a favor: "I wish I could help. I'm at capacity until March. Priya on my team knows this area well and might have time; I've copied her."
Declining an offer: "Thank you for the offer, and for your time throughout the process. After careful thought, I've decided not to proceed. I'd be glad to stay in touch."

Write five versions: warm and short; firm and professional; with an alternative; with a future yes ("not now, but ask me in the summer"); and a one-liner. Each starts with thanks or acknowledgment, says no clearly in the first or second sentence, gives a reason only if it helps, and ends kindly. Avoid over-apologizing, vague maybes, and false excuses. Add a table saying which version suits which situation, and a rule to reply within 48 hours.
