Find missing, inconsistent and orphan citations.

The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.

[ADD SOURCE] [VERIFY] is an editorial flag, not a blank to fill. Wherever the prompt shows [VERIFY], check that item against a reliable source before you use it.

Audit my reference list. My text citations (list or paste): [IN_TEXT_CITATIONS]. My reference list: [REFERENCE_LIST]. Style: [STYLE].

Compare the two: citations without a matching reference, references never cited, mismatched years or author names, inconsistent formatting, missing DOIs or page numbers, and duplicate entries. Present findings in a table with Issue | Location | Suggested fix. Do not invent missing details; mark them [ADD SOURCE]. Provide a final checklist for the last day before submission, including checking that quotations have page numbers and that all sources were actually consulted. Recommend verifying against the official style guide [VERIFY].

Also add a method for building the comparison in a spreadsheet using two columns and a simple lookup, and a final read-through order: first in-text citations, then the list, then a sample of ten references checked against the actual sources.

Add a short rule for dealing with sources I cannot find again: search by DOI or title, ask the library, or remove the claim if I cannot verify the source.
