Front Desk Procedure Interview and SOP

Interview first

Document how the desk really works.

The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.

[VERIFY] is an editorial flag, not a blank to fill. Wherever the prompt shows [VERIFY], check that item against a reliable source before you use it.

Interview me to write a standard operating procedure for a task at our [PRACTICE_TYPE] front desk. The task: [TASK_NAME]. Ask these questions one at a time and wait for each answer: who does it and when; what triggers it; the steps in order, including systems used; what can go wrong; what information must be protected; who to escalate to; how we know it was done correctly.

After the interview, write an SOP with these parts: purpose, scope, roles, prerequisites, numbered steps (one action per step, written as a command), privacy and security notes, exceptions and escalation, a checklist version for daily use, and a "review by" line with space for date and owner.

Keep language simple enough for a new team member. Mark places where I need to confirm policy as [VERIFY]. Do not include real patient information. Finally, suggest a one-week test: how another team member follows the SOP and what feedback to collect.

This is administrative and communication support only, not medical, clinical or legal advice. Remove patient identifiers before pasting anything. Have a clinician, compliance officer or practice manager who knows the rules in [JURISDICTION] verify the output before it is used.
