Summarization Prompt With Audience and Length Control

The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
Write a summarization prompt. The material to summarize (type and length): [MATERIAL_TYPE_AND_LENGTH]. Who will read the summary and what they will do with it: [READER_AND_USE]. The length and format needed: [LENGTH_AND_FORMAT]. What must not be lost (numbers, decisions, names, caveats): [MUST_KEEP]. Create: 1. A prompt for one document: audience, purpose, length, structure (for example: one-sentence takeaway, three key points, decisions and actions, open questions), a rule to keep numbers exact, a rule to separate what the source says from your interpretation, a rule to mark anything unclear, and an instruction to quote short passages with locations for key claims. 2. A layered version: a one-line summary, a one-paragraph summary, and a bulleted detail summary. 3. A prompt for multiple documents: summarize each, then compare agreements and conflicts in a table. 4. A faithfulness check: after summarizing, list every claim in the summary and the line of the source that supports it; flag any not found. 5. Common failures: invented details, loss of caveats, balance bias toward the start, and generic wording; how the prompt prevents them. Provide an example of a weak and a strong summary request, and a validation routine for a person to spot-check three claims. Only summarize the text I provide.

Prompt: "Summarize the report below for a busy operations manager. Structure: one-sentence takeaway; three key points; decisions and actions with owners (write 'owner not stated' if absent); open questions. Maximum 150 words. Keep all numbers exact. Separate what the report says from your interpretation. Quote the line supporting each key point with its section number." Faithfulness check: list every claim and the source line that supports it; flag any not found. Layered version: one line, one paragraph, bullets. Multi-document: summarize each, then compare in a table.
