Website Voice and Jargon Audit
Find language that excludes readers.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
Audit the language on my website. Text from five pages: [PAGE_TEXTS]. My readers and their reading level: [READERS]. Words I use internally: [INTERNAL_TERMS]. Find jargon, acronyms, passive constructions, long sentences, inconsistent terms for the same thing, and phrases that sound like a brochure. Estimate reading level by sentence length and word choice, and list the replacements in plain language. Return a glossary table with Term, Problem and Replacement, a readability score from 1 to 10 for each page, and a short style rule list of ten items that keeps future writing consistent. Add a sentence-level pass on one long page, marking sentences over 25 words and passive phrases, with a rewrite of the ten worst. Suggest a short checklist writers can run before publishing, and how to share the glossary with the team. End with a one-page style sheet that a new writer could apply on their first day, including preferred spellings and capitalisation.
