Base Cleanup Audit: Fields, Duplicates and Broken Links
Find unused fields, duplicate records and inconsistent select options.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
[VERIFY] is an editorial flag, not a blank to fill. Wherever the prompt shows [VERIFY], check that item against a reliable source before you use it.
Audit an Airtable base. A list of tables with field names, types, the percentage of records where each field is filled, and the number of records: [TABLE_AND_FIELD_DATA]. Examples of select options and duplicates I have noticed: [EXAMPLES]. How the base is used: [USAGE]. Identify fields with a fill rate under 20 percent, fields that duplicate others, text fields that should be selects, select fields with near-duplicate options (for example 'Done', 'done', 'Complete'), linked fields with many empty links, and tables with probable duplicate records. Make a table with Table, Field, Issue, Evidence (with the arithmetic for fill rates), Risk of changing, and Recommended action. Propose a cleanup order (backup first, merge duplicates, standardise options, remove unused fields after a trial period), a naming convention, and an owner for each table. Draft a notice to the team. Remind me to duplicate the base before bulk changes. Mark Airtable features as [VERIFY].
