Monday.com Automation and Notification Overload Audit
Find automations that create noise or surprise.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
[VERIFY] is an editorial flag, not a blank to fill. Wherever the prompt shows [VERIFY], check that item against a reliable source before you use it.
Review our monday.com automations and notifications. Automations list with trigger, action and board: [AUTOMATIONS]. Complaints about notifications: [COMPLAINTS]. Team size: [TEAM_SIZE]. Check for duplicates, chains where one automation triggers another, notifications to large groups, automations with no clear owner, and ones that depend on renamed columns. Estimate noise with a simple model: automations that fire per item change times changes per day times recipients. Worked example: the busiest of 6 automations fires on every status change (about 40 a day) and notifies 5 people, which is 200 notifications. State your assumptions and list the three automations contributing the most, then give worst-case notifications per person per day. Return a table marking keep, merge or remove, a one-week quiet trial with measures (notification count and complaints), and a notification etiquette for the team. Test changes on a copy of the board [VERIFY], and do not switch off anything without checking who depends on it.

Invented model: 6 automations; the busiest fires on every status change (about 40 per day) and notifies 5 people = 200 notifications per day. Second busiest: 15 per day x 3 people = 45. Together 245 of 290 total (84 percent). Proposal: send the first as a daily summary; expected total falls to about 90 per day. Reading: two automations cause 84 percent of notifications, so changing those two gives most of the benefit. If the first becomes a daily summary of one message to 5 people, it falls from 200 to 5 per day. New total: 290 - 200 + 5 = 95 per day. Check after a week with the team: did anyone miss something important?
