Audit categorisation. Data: a transaction listing for a period with date, payee, account, amount, memo and whether created by a bank rule: [TRANSACTION_LISTING]. Balances of uncategorised, ask-my-accountant, suspense and miscellaneous accounts: [CLEARING_BALANCES]. Chart of accounts: [CHART_OF_ACCOUNTS].

Check for items posted to the wrong type of account (assets expensed, loan principal expensed), the same payee in different accounts, round-number journal entries without memos, accounts with few postings, and balances in clearing accounts. Calculate the share of transactions in suspense or miscellaneous accounts by count and by value (example, invented listing of 480 transactions: 38 in Ask my accountant or Miscellaneous is 7.9 percent by count), and totals by payee for the top ten. Show arithmetic and say which findings are certain and which are questions.

Return a table of exceptions with Evidence, Likely correct treatment and Question for the accountant, a plan to clear the clearing accounts with deadlines, and a rule to review bank rules every quarter. Never recommend changing prior-period entries after a filing without the accountant's approval [VERIFY]. Keep this to bookkeeping education with no tax, legal or accounting opinion, and list what a qualified adviser needs to confirm for my country [VERIFY].
