Apology and Resolution Wording Check
Check whether an apology or resolution letter answers what you asked for.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
Check a company's apology or resolution message. The message: [THEIR_MESSAGE]. What I originally asked for: [MY_REQUEST]. What I received so far: [WHAT_RECEIVED]. Make a table that compares each part of my request with what the message gives: acknowledgement of the problem, explanation, remedy (refund, repair, credit), timing, record correction, and prevention. Mark each as addressed, partly addressed or not addressed and quote the words. Identify vague wording like 'we will look into it', 'where possible' and 'in due course'. Draft a short reply that accepts what is fair, asks for the missing parts with dates, and thanks them. Provide a way to decide when a complaint is resolved (checklist). Also tell me whether the message contains any wording that could limit later claims, such as an offer 'in full settlement', and list questions I should ask before I reply. Give a scale of 'resolved', 'partly resolved' and 'not resolved' with the reasons, and a note on what to keep in my file. Keep the tone fair and do not assume insincerity. I want help, not legal advice. Name no rule I did not supply. Use [JURISDICTION] and [RELEVANT_LAW_OR_POLICY_IF_KNOWN] as given. Flag where I need expert help. Promise no result.
