Sprint Backlog and Velocity Tracker
Track agile work with velocity calculations.

Build a spreadsheet for sprint planning and velocity tracking. Team and sprint length: [TEAM_AND_SPRINT_LENGTH]. Estimation approach (story points, hours): [ESTIMATION_APPROACH]. Work item fields I use: [WORK_ITEM_FIELDS]. Spreadsheet app: [SPREADSHEET_APP]. Model it on this example. Sprint 5 committed 32 points and completed 27. Velocity per sprint = completed points. Average velocity of the last three sprints (5: 27, 4: 30, 3: 24) = 27. Next sprint capacity suggestion = average velocity, adjusted for planned absences: if one of five people is away for half the sprint, capacity is about 27 times (1 minus 0.1) = 24.3 points. Burndown: each day, remaining points = total committed minus completed so far; ideal line decreases linearly. Design the workbook: a backlog tab (ID, title, type, priority, estimate, status, sprint, assignee), a sprint tab with committed and completed points, formulas for velocity, rolling average, completion rate, a capacity calculator with absences, and a daily burndown chart. Add a review tab for retrospective actions (action, owner, due date, done). Include sample data for four sprints and the expected values. Include a note on using velocity for planning only and not to compare teams or judge individuals.

Sample data (4 sprints): committed/completed: S1 30/24, S2 28/26, S3 32/27, S4 30/30. Velocity = completed points. Rolling average of the last three (S2-S4) = (26+27+30)/3 = 27.7. Next sprint capacity: 27.7 x (1 - absences) where one of five people is away half the sprint = 27.7 x 0.9 = 24.9, plan about 25 points. Completion rate S3 = 27/32 = 84%. Burndown example: day 1 remaining 25; day 5 remaining 17; ideal line at day 5 = 25 x (1 - 5/10) = 12.5, so behind schedule. Review tab: retrospective action, owner, due date, done. Note: velocity is for planning, not for comparing teams or judging people.
