IF usage is highly variable THEN increase the safety stock; IF the item is critical (a stockout stops work) THEN carry a larger safety stock; IF the item is slow-moving THEN order smaller quantities even at a higher unit price. 6. IF a bulk discount tempts me to overbuy THEN compare the savings with the cost of storage and the risk of waste. Include tabs: item list, usage log, stock on hand, order list by supplier, cost summary by category. Provide eight sample items and the expected reorder results to test the formulas, and a counting and update routine that takes less than 10 minutes.
