Write conditional formatting rules for my sheet. App: [SPREADSHEET_APP]. Range and columns: [RANGE_AND_COLUMNS]. What should be highlighted and in which color: [HIGHLIGHT_NEEDS]. Sample data (fake): [SAMPLE_DATA]. For each need, provide: the range it applies to; the custom formula rule; the formatting; an explanation of how the references work (relative versus absolute, with dollar signs); and a test. Examples to follow: Highlight the whole row when status in column D is "Overdue": apply to A2:H100, formula =$D2="Overdue". Highlight dates due in the next 7 days: =AND($C2>=TODAY(), $C2<=TODAY()+7). Highlight duplicates in column A: =COUNTIF($A$2:$A$100,$A2)>1. Highlight values below the average: =B2<AVERAGE($B$2:$B$100). Alternate row shading: =ISEVEN(ROW()). Highlight blank required cells: =AND($A2<>"", B2=""). Also cover: rule order and priority; stopping when a rule is true; color choices that are accessible (contrast and not relying on color alone, with icons or text); performance on large ranges; and how to find and clean up conflicting rules. End with a style guide for a consistent color meaning in the workbook and a checklist to review all rules.
